Love Horses? Love Helping Others? Become a Volunteer!
“I just want to say that I love my time at The Kvamme Center and love working with you!
Your faithful volunteer, Vicki A.”
There are several ways you can participate as a volunteer: donate your time or donate your talent if you already have experience with equine-assisted activities and therapies (EAAT).
Donate your time
- Work directly with the horses and clientele: Examples of how you will help: prepare a horse for use in the arena, assist a rider onto the horse, side walk to assure safety of the client during a session, and put the horse back into its barn home. Generally speaking, each rider needs a minimum of three volunteers directly involved with him or her, in addition to the instructor in charge of the session. You will receive training in advance of performing these duties so that you will be comfortable around the horses and ensure the safety of the rider. To volunteer for these activities, you will need to be available at the specific times of the equine therapy sessions.
- Help around the Center: We are always looking for helpers in the barn to clean tack, muck stalls, and perform general maintenance. No experience required!
